Perfection in Imperfection: Kintsugi

My friend Jessica Wang and I went to Treasure Island one weekend to visit the flea market. We had the idea of purchasing some old ceramic pieces, destroying them, then piecing them back together, a practice called Kintsugi. It is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery, and the philosophy of repairing as part of the history of an artifact, rather than disguising "broken" parts. This is also inspired by the philosophy of wabi-sabi, which embraces the flawed and imperfect, which also relates to Buddhist philosophy of acceptance of change.
